Emmerdale’s Rosie Bentham, 21, says guys are more interested in soap spoilers than chatting her up

‘The biggest red flag!’ Emmerdale’s Rosie Bentham, 21, reveals it’s a huge turn-off when guys are more interested in soap spoilers than chatting her up

She’s gone from shy school girl to soap siren during her time on the ITV soap.

However, despite her sexy persona both on and off screen, Emmerdale’s Rosie Bentham has admitted it hasn’t helped her love life as guys are more interested in hearing about soap storylines.

In a new interview, the Gabby Thomas actress, 21, told how it’s ‘the biggest red flag’ when potential suitors would rather chat about soaps than chat her up.

Uh oh: Despite her sexy persona both on and off screen, Emmerdale’s Rosie Bentham has admitted it hasn’t helped her love life as guys are more interested in hearing about soap storylines

Speaking to The Mirror of her plight, Rosie explained: ‘The biggest red flag is when someone says to me, “So, tell me what’s going to happen next”.

‘It’s obvious at that point they’re not interested in me, they’re just trying to get spoilers out of me. It’s nice if someone says, “Oh, my gran watches it” – but I don’t think many 21-year-old boys are genuinely interested in watching soaps.’

Meanwhile, Rosie opened up about her first onscreen kiss, detailing that it was hugely ’embarrassing’ because her parents were watching.

She was just 15 when she stepped into the role and thus had to be chaperoned by her mum and dad on set.

Describing the experience, she said: ‘It was nerve-wracking. Not only was I young, but I had my parents sat behind a screen watching everything. We had to do the kiss quite a few times as well, which was awkward. I was so embarrassed.’

Despite her own romance woes, things are looking up for her onscreen persona Gabby, who’s taken a shine to Home Farm’s new nanny Nicky.

But while Gabby appears smitten by the handsome newcomer, Emmerdale Jane Hudson teased that there could e more to Nicky that meets the eye.

Se told press: ‘I think this is the first time Home Farm has had a nanny. He’s a very good looking nanny who catches the eye of Gabby the minute he walks in.

‘There’s lots of fun in store for Nicky and Gabby as we watch their fledgling romance and like any good story, there will be a few reveals along the way.’

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
