Emmerdale’s Anna Nightingale weighs in on Matthew Wolfenden and Isabel Hodgins’ ‘on set row’

‘It wouldn’t take much to get to that place’: Emmerdale’s Anna Nightingale weighs in on Matthew Wolfenden and Isabel Hodgins’ ‘on set row’

Anna Nightingale has revealed her thoughts about Matthew Wolfenden and Isabel Hodgins’ rumoured on set row.

The Emmerdale actress, 30, told The Sun that she thought it ‘wouldn’t take very much to get to that place’ because of the immense pressure that the actors are under when shooting stunt scenes like they were.

Isabel and Matthew were filming dramatic waterfall scenes when they supposedly locked horns in Stockton-on-Tees for the special episode.

A source said to the publication: ‘A comment was made that unintentionally caused offence, and an argument broke out among some of the cast members.’

Anna said of the situation: ‘When you film scenes like that the cast, the crew, everybody, is being pushed. And they are pushing themselves too, because they want the work they are doing to be good.

‘When you’re filming special episodes people are tired and people are emotional, because they are working so hard.

MailOnline has contacted representatives for the soap for further comment.

‘Then they are doing stunts as well. I wasn’t aware of an argument because I wasn’t working with the cast involved, so I can’t comment on the specifics.’

She then went on to say that although she wasn’t working with them at the time, she got in touch with the cast and said that the pair are best friends so she was sure they’d be fine again.

Matthew and Isabel appeared to have put their supposed row behind them earlier this week when Matthew’s wife Charley Webb shared a photo of the pair larking about.

The argument seemed to be severe when the insider added that Emmerdale took the allegations seriously and that Matthew and Isabel did not film scenes while inquiries were made.

The matter was then resolved and no further action was taken. The pair were then back on set last week.

The on-screen couple reportedly took a break from filming at Tees Barrage water park in Stockton-on-Tees while bosses made inquiries.
