Catherine put on a united front with Dominic as the couple posed together 24 hours after the photos emerged.
However, Catherine is now said to be seeking advice from her sisters Nesta, an illustrator, and Honor, an actress.
A source said: ‘She’s holed up in her family’s ancestral home, Glin Castle in County Limerick, thinking everything over.
‘Catherine has called on Nesta and Honor to help her as she’s been struggling to come to a decision about whether she and Dominic can go back to how they were.

‘Nesta has told friends that it felt like a family crisis meeting. Both she and Honor are fiercely protective of their older sister and want only what’s best for her, even if that means Catherine walking away.’
The insider added to the publication that Catherine has been left feeling humiliated over her husband’s recent actions.
MailOnline has contacted Catherine FitzGerald and a representative for Dominic West for comment.
In the wake of the scandal, Catherine flew into Shannon airport in County Clare and travelled to her family castle 50 miles away.
Support: According to The Sun, Catherine is now at her family home in County Limerick, Ireland where she is struggling to decide whether she and Dominic can repair their bond
Although she hasn’t been seen in the nearby village, a local source confirmed she was ‘holed up’ at the castle, attempting to escape the attention on her private life.
When the couple put on a display of unity outside their Cotswolds home, Catherine said: ‘Our marriage is strong and we’re very much still together. Thank you.’
She then gave her husband a long lingering kiss and he smirked at the camera.
A source in the Limerick area told MailOnline: ‘She’s here. She’s just trying to get some rest, totally understandably after what she’s been through.
‘We had photographers here last week but there’s strictly no admittance to the castle grounds and she’s not coming out anyway. The Gardai [police] moved them on.

‘This is her home, her favourite place in the world and she feels safe here. It’s natural that she’d come home to her mother. It must be hell what she’s going through.’
They added: ‘She is absolutely devastated at those pictures and their story will inevitably have a sad ending’.
The Wire actor Dominic had previously confirmed that his wife had gone to Ireland alone.
He said: ‘She’s on a work trip. She’s gone by herself.’

When asked if they are still together, Dominic laughed and said: ‘Of course we are, very much together. Our relationship is fine.’
When asked about his trip to Rome, Dominic replied: ‘It’s nobody’s business.’
His wife is staying with her mother Olda Fitzgerald, who lives at the castle which is available for exclusive hire starting at £6,000 per night.
