A DYI enthusiast impressed the Internet with a low-budget bathroom makeover.

Hayley Johnson, from Glossop, Derbyshire, revealed she completed an amazing floor-to-ceiling bathroom makeover for only £250, including accessories and decorative items.

She explained she shopped at bargain stores such as B&M and Primark as well as Ikea, Asda and Next in order to achieve the colour palette of grey, white and pink her heart was set on.

A lick of £12 paint in on-trend grey was all it took to instantly modernise the room, and she saved money by opting for tile-effect lino rather than the real thing.

As she shared the before and after on the DIY On A Budget UK Facebook group, Hayley impressed with her simple yet efficient makeover, as some said it looked like a completely different room.

She first repainted the walls and redid the floor, enrolling the help of a local business in Stalybridge who supplied and fitted the tile-effect white lino.

Before the makeover, Hayley’s bathroom looked dark and dated, but she showed that a coat of paint and a few good accessories make a world of difference.

She bought grey paint on offer from B&M for £12 and partially repainted the walls, but left but also coated the woodwork in white to make sure that her pink accessories stood out.

She explained in the comments that she does not have windows in her bathroom, and banked on the paint to brighten it as much as possible.
