Disney+ reveals premiere date for season two of Welcome to Wrexham as Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney return as hosts
Disney+ has announced that season two of reality series Welcome to Wrexham will drop on the streaming giant on September 13.
Once again hosted by Hollywood actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, the new season features a cameo from King Charles and follows the further adventures of the Red Dragons, an underdog Welsh football team.
Fans and critics raved about the first season, which followed Rob and Ryan after they bought the third oldest professional association team in the world and the oldest club in Wales.
Based in the working class city of Wrexham, the Red Dragons suffered heartbreak in the first season as they attempted to break into the major competition.
For the past 14 seasons Wrexham have been playing in the National League, which is the lowest level of professional football in England.

Ryan and Rob originally teamed up to buy the Red Dragons in 2020, which the FX series documented in season one.

The struggling Red Dragons receive overwhelming support from a community determined to cheer them on to victory.
And even King Charles appears to be a fan. At one point in the trailer he can be seen visiting the club and shaking hands with the Hollywood stars.

Meanwhile, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia star Rob admits it’s a real risk for their investment as the stakes are even higher this time around.
‘If the club does get promoted this year [in to the big league], the club is wholly unsustainable,’ he says during the trailer.
Last season saw the Red Dragons suffer major changes on and off the field, including several sackings as Ryan and Rob took control of the Club’s direction.
Fans can look forward to emotional scenes as the small community deals with their newfound fame after the success of season one.
