The star recently dabbled into the publishing world and wrote her very first children’s book titled, A Name From The Sky, which was released last month.

During an interview with Yahoo Life, Diana opened up about the inspirations behind penning the book.

She explained that during the Covid lockdown, her mother from Germany had visited sunny Los Angeles and spent time with Diane and her four-year-old daughter, Nova.

‘We talked about the moment that really changed my life in a very significant way: When she told me about the meaning of my name,’ the actress stated.

The beauty expressed that her name, Diane, was rather strange to have when she was growing up in Germany, and was actually made fun of. However, her mother had explained that her name had come from a Roman goddess.

When recently visiting the Today show to promote her touching children’s book, Diane explained that the novel was also for her own daughter, whom she shares with current beau, Norman Reedus.

‘When I became a mom…I just felt this responsibility and this great opportunity to give her joy and hope in life,’ the talented star stated.

The award-winning actress further explained to Yahoo that for some time, she believed she would not become a mother. ‘I just didn’t think it was going to be for me.

‘I mean, I would’ve liked to have a kid, but I thought I was too old, to be honest, and I was in a newish relationship so we definitely weren’t trying to have a baby,’ she added, in reference to dating Norman.

The National Treasure alum concluded that Nova has been, ‘the greatest blessing in our lives.’
