Louise Sorel is back on Days Of Our Lives with the sole purpose of ‘stirring up trouble.’
The 83-year-old actress, best known for her role as Vivian Alamain on the long-running soap, is set to return to the series in a dramatic fashion on September 8th, three years after her last Days Of Our Lives appearance.
Plot-wise, her iconic soap character is set to make an appearance following the death of her onscreen husband, Victor Kiriakis, who was played by the late John Aniston, according to People.
Jennifer Aniston’s late father’s last posthumous appearance on the famous soap was back in September 2022.
The show killed off John’s iconic crime boss character in-universe by having Victor perish in a plane crash off the coast of the Mediterranean — hence the cause for Vivian’s return on the show.

First making an appearance on Days Of Our Lives back in 1992, Louise would play Vivian all the way until the turn of the millennium in 2000, returning several times to reprise her role from 2009 to 2011, and 2017 to 2018.
The relationship between Vivian and Victor was tense from the start, with the former initially only wanting to marry Victor for his money and power.
However, she quickly realized she had actual feelings for the mobster when Victor began to pursue Kate Roberts (Lauren Koslow).
Ever the schemer, Vivian plotted not only to have the embryo Kate and Victor had planned to use for an in vitro pregnancy, but she also disguised herself as Kate for her nuptials to Victor.
As a result, she tricked the criminal mastermind into legally marrying her instead of Kate.
Ironically, after the couple divorced, Victor was forced to ask for Vivian’s hand a second time (without the deceptions of their first marriage), in order to get Vivian to stop trying to kill Melanie, Victor’s daughter in law.
However, after the couple got hitched a second time, Vivian found herself growing dangerously jealous of her husband’s newest paramour, Maggie Horton (Suzanne Rogers).
Even attempting to bury Maggie alive, Vivian found herself six feet under instead — although she was saved by one of her lackeys, the villainous move spelled the end of her second marriage to Victor.

While it’s unknown what Vivian is up to pending her return to Salem in Days Of Our Lives, it’s highly likely Victor’s shrewd ex-wife returned for the reading of his will.
Days Of Our Lives’s co-creator Ken Corday told People after John’s passing that, ‘There is no question that all of us at Days will be mourning this great and profound loss. John was an icon, but even more so, he was a pillar of strength and unity for our Days of Our Lives community.’
He added, ‘He, along with our ‘Victor Kiriakis,’ will forever be in our hearts.’
What remains yet to be seen is if the September 8th episode of Days Of Our Lives will be Vivian’s first and last reappearance in Salem for closure around her ex-husband’s death.
