Corrie’s Ryan Thomas ‘is the latest star to sign up for Celebrity: SAS Who Dares wins’


Ryan Thomas is reportedly the latest star to sign up for the next series of Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins, which will begin filming in 2023. 

According to The Sun the actor, 38, who played Jason Grimshaw in the soap until 2016, jumped at the chance to appear in the gruelling Channel 4 show.

However they revealed that his famous brothers Emmerdale’s Adam and Love Island’s Scott, both, 34, won’t let him ‘live it down’ if he were to drop out.

The intense reality shows sees contestants compete in a two-week intensive training course designed to replicate the UK Special Forces selection course.

The source told the publication: ‘Ryan didn’t have to think twice when he was asked. He loves pushing himself and taking on tough tasks’. 

‘He knows it will be extremely challenging, but he is determined to see it through. He knows his brothers Scott and Adam won’t let him live it down if he drops out early.’

Ryan is no stranger to reality television and appeared in Celebrity Big Brother back in 2018 as well as overhauling his body to compete in ITV’s The Games earlier this year. 

He also appeared in a similarly extreme show in 2017’s Celebrity Island with Bear Grylls, where he met his partner TOWIE star Lucy Mecklenburgh. 

The couple are now parents to son Roman, two, and two-month old daughter Lila, as well as Ryan’s daughter Scarlett, 13, from his relationship with former co-star Tina O’Brien.

Matt Hancock is another celeb who has reportedly signed up for the latest series of the gruelling show that is filmed in Jourdan. 

The former heath secretary, 43, is said to have met with producers this month to work out the details of his appearance on the gruelling reality show.

Mr Hancock is said to be hoping to ‘show a different’ side of himself after he resigned from his post when it emerged he had broken social distancing rules and cheated on his wife with a senior aide last year.

A spokesperson for Matt Hancock said: ‘Matt gets a huge number of offers and is asked to appear on TV shows all the time but he has not signed up to anything.’

The politician is passionate about fitness and was regularly seen going for early morning runs around the capital while in government.

Also thought to be appearing is reality star James Argent 34, who’s spoken publicly about his battle with drug addiction, depression, and binge eating, has set himself the ultimate physical and mental challenge after losing 14 stone following his lifesaving gastric surgery.

A source exclusively revealed to the MailOnline that James is ‘determined’ to reach the end of the course and wants to prove he’s capable of tackling the most gruelling show on TV.

A show insider told MailOnline: ‘James has been through so much in his life but now after months of recovery and working on himself – he’s ready for a challenge of this magnitude.

‘Producers of SAS are always on the lookout for celebrities that have a story to tell and are prepared to rise to the occasion – James is the perfect signing.’
