Gunman on the run after man is shot dead after horror shooting in the front yard of a home in Brisbane

  • Police are searching for the gunman that shot a Brisbane man dead on Tuesday
  • Officers established a crime scene for the suspected homicide at 3.25am
  • Nearby Corinda State School and Eden Academy childcare centre are affected 

Police are searching for a gunman that shot another man dead in the front yard of a city home.

Queensland Police said officers established a crime scene at a house on Cliveden Avenue in Oxley, southwest Brisbane, at 3.25am on Tuesday.

They are currently treating the shooting as a murder.

The investigation means nearby Corinda State School’s drop-off area will be closed until after 9am, delaying students’ start on the first day of Term Four. 

Parents were asked to allow extra time to get their children to school. 

The crime scene also affects the nearby Eden Academy childcare facility.
