Conor McGregor could return to the Octagon later this year after making a speedy recovery from the borken leg he suffered in July.
The Irishman faced Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 for his final match of the trilogy earlier this summer and broke his tibia and fibula at the end of the first round.
The horrific injury brought an immediate end to the contest and it was believed that McGregor would not be able to compete until 2022.

However, UFC president Dana White believes that there is a chance that we will see McGregor before the end of the year.
When speaking to the Australian Daily Telegraph, he said: ‘Conor seems to be healing up pretty well. The question is: When can he start kicking again?
‘If he could take kicks, then he’d be looking at a fight before the end of the year again, so it all depends on how fast that leg heals.’
Earlier this week, McGregor corroborated this injury update when he visited the MTV Music Video Awards in New York.
The Irishman’s loss to Poirier was the first time he lost twice to the same fighter in his career
When speaking to Adam Glyn, he said: ‘I feel like I could kick right now. I honestly feel like I could kick right now. But I’ve just got to listen to the doctors and listen to the people that guided me, that’s what I’ve done so far.
‘I’ve committed myself to the work. I’m back on the feet. It feels so good to be back on the feet.’
McGregor also revealed that the injury lay-off had been one of the most difficult periods of his career.

He added: ‘I was upset for a little while, it’s not been easy. There’s been a few ups and downs on this, it’s probably one of the wildest things that’s ever happened to me in my life.
‘It’s not been fun, smooth sailing, but I got through it. I’ve had my family, my close team by my side, and we’re getting there.
‘Still a long way, I don’t want to get too ahead of myself, like I said I feel like I can kick now, I’m not advised to kick yet. But I’m gonna get back. You think a broken bone is gonna stop me? Think again.’
