Teen climate activist Greta Thunberg endorsed Democrat Joe Biden on Saturday, urging voters to head to the polls and vote based on protecting the environment.

The Swedish 17-year-old said in a tweet that she never engages in party politics, but that ‘the upcoming US elections is above and beyond all that’.

‘From a climate perspective it’s very far from enough and many of you of course supported other candidates. But, I mean…you know…damn! Just get organized and get everyone to vote #Biden,’ she wrote.

Attached to her tweet was an article stating: ‘On November 3, Vote to End Attacks on Science.’

As Thunberg is not a US citizen, she cannot vote personally in the US election.

Donald Trump has spent much of his time in office dismantling former President Barack Obama’s climate agenda to free the energy and automobile industries from the costs of regulations meant to protect health and the environment.

The Trump administration also pulled the US out of the Paris climate agreement, a voluntary pledge by 200 countries to cut greenhouse gas emissions. US withdrawl will be complete by November 4, one day after election day.

On the other hand, Biden has focused on a new massive green infrastructure.

Biden has previously said that if he was voted president, The first thing I will do is rejoin the Paris accord.’

In the first presidential debate and vice presidential debate a hot topic was fracking – digging and injecting liquid at high pressure into the earth to extract oil or gas.

Trump claimed that Biden wants to end fracking altogether in a bid to paint him as too liberal.

Biden’s climate change plan doesn’t get rid of fracking or fossil fuels, but it does ban any new oil drilling leases on public land.

At that time Trump mocked the teen activist, tweeting she needed to ‘work on her anger management problem, then go to a good old fashioned movie with a friend’.

Trump also mocker her for her speech at the United Nations climate summit last year, where she angrily denounced world leaders for failing to tackle climate change saying, ‘How dare you?’

Thunberg and the Fridays for Future movement was nominated for this year’s Nobel Peace Prize, which on Friday was awarded to The United Nations’ World Food Programme.
