Christian Eriksen has made a verbal agreement to join Manchester United.

The Danish free agent has informed the Red Devils of his desire to play at Old Trafford next season and is prepared to pen a three-year deal at the club.

Eriksen scored one and assisted four in 11 games during the second-half of last season at Brentford, having suffered a cardiac arrest on the pitch at Euro 2020 last summer.

The 30-year-old midfielder must first go through significant medical tests at Old Trafford before the deal is finalised.

Brentford held ‘positive talks’ with Eriksen at the end of last month and were hopeful to lure the playmaker back to west London.

However, the stage is now set for the playmaker to become Erik ten Hag’s first signing at Man United.

The Red Devils were handed a shock on Saturday as star striker Cristiano Ronaldo expressed his desire to exit Old Trafford.
