Chrishell Strause opens up about finding Shang-Chi star Simu Liu a new house

Season 4 of Netflix’s Selling Sunset will have a superhero twist, with Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings star Simu Liu in the market for a new house.

Chrishell Stause of the Oppenheim Group opens up about how she came to help the 32-year-old superhero actor find his new abode, in an interview with EW.

The realtor and actor actually first connected on Twitter, after Liu tweeted about binge-watching the show during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Liu tweeted in August 2020, ‘What no I’m not binge-watching Season 3 of Selling Sunset, why would you think that at all.’

Strause heard about the Marvel Cinematic Universe star tweeting about her show, revealing that’s how it all started.

‘You have to give all the props to Twitter, It started very innocently enough of me just being excited that he was a fan of the show because I felt like he wasn’t the kind of person that you would have expected to be watching and actively Tweeting about it,’ Stause said.

‘So I took it as a huge compliment and thought it was super cool. Then it just happened so innocently — he mentioned that he might be actually looking for a place soon, and then I was like, um, I can help you with that,’ Stause added.

Liu responded to another one of Stause’s tweets in April, where she asked guys how they would prefer to hear from a girl that doesn’t want to date but wants to keep it friendly.

He told her, ‘Up front and honest is the way to go, and if he reacts badly, that’s 100% on him,’ and when she said, ‘OK good point,’ he added, ‘While I got you… I might be in the market to buy……’

Stause also wasn’t expecting Liu to actually want to be on the show, but she was surprised that he was interested.

‘I said, “Listen, I understand this can be a question that you ignore, but I absolutely have to ask if you’d be willing to film this on the show, but no pressure, I’ll help you either way,”‘ she said.

Stause added that is her approach any celebrity who is in the market, adding she just puts it on their plate, ‘and try not to pressure them at all,’ making it clear that she will work with them even if they don’t want to be on the show, but Liu, ‘was so enthusiastic about it!’

‘He was just such a pro. There’s certain times with production, where maybe it works better for his schedule to go on this day, but we don’t have the location to shoot until this day, but he was just such a love,’ Stause enthused.

She added she usually has ‘extra’ on her plate when she’s working with a celebrity, ‘but he was just so lovely and so helpful. I am so excited. I mean, he’s obviously blown up since then. He was already there, but now I’ll be driving down the street and there he is on the billboard!’

Season 4 of Selling Sunset debuts on November 24, though it’s unclear which episode Liu is featured on.
