Chris Brown’s urgent health warning after the celebrity vet makes shock discovery: ‘Be careful out there!’
Celebrity vet Dr Chris Brown has issued a stern warning for dog owners.
The 44-year-old shared that he’d found ticks on his dog, Buzzy, and urged his fans to check their pets.
‘Be careful out there! I just found two (!) paralysis ticks on Buzzy. So consider this the official warning that tick season is here…in early August! And yeah, this time it’s personal’ he wrote in a caption alongside a photo with his dog.
‘So Buzzy is fine. Thankfully because he is on prevention, the ticks were dead. But here’s all you need to know about the parasite that truly sucks in ALL the ways.
‘WHY IS TICK SEASON STARTING SO EARLY? Even though we associate ticks with summer, an August start isn’t abnormal. But this early is. The combination of warmer winter weather and some rain is the signal ticks have been waiting for’ he said.

‘SO WHAT CAN YOU DO? If you live in a paralysis tick prone area (along the east coast of Australia), then get on your tick prevention now’ Chris went on.
‘Also, still check for ticks with your fingers using the ‘tickle fingers’ motion. They could be anywhere but 80% of ticks around found from the front legs forward. Buzzy’s two ticks were on his neck.
‘WHAT ARE YOU FEELING FOR? They’ll feel like a small skin lump. But unlike a lump, they have legs. In good light you’ll see they’re grey in colour and attached by their mouth. Stay safe. Tick season will now run through until February/March’.
Chris has signed a two-year contract with Seven worth more than $1million a year.

‘To be able to bring my world of animals to life in an original, adventurous and breathtaking way truly excites me,’ Brown said in a statement to Daily Mail Australia.
‘I can’t wait for the world’s wildlife and the search for Australia’s best Dream Home to land in our lounge rooms in 2024.’
Both Dream Home and the untitled animal adventure series will go into production next year.
Chris’ appearance on Seven is somewhat of a homecoming.
He started his TV career in 2003 as a presenter on Harry’s Practice on Seven, a role that earned him a Logie nomination for Most Popular New Talent.
