BUSINESS CLOSE: FTSE 100 finishes just short of all-time closing high; Sainsbury’s reveals Just East deal; M&S to open 20 new stores
The FTSE 100 ended the day up 0.2 per cent or 16 points at 7860.1, within touching distance of its record closing high of 7,877 in May 2018. It’s also not far off its all-time intraday high of 7,903.5, set the same month of that year.
