Brock Lesnar could make his return to the UFC to take on interim heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall in UFC 300 main event according to former middleweight champion Michael Bisping

  • Michael Bisping believes WWE superstar Brock Lesnar could fight at UFC 300
  • The former middleweight champion believes Lesnar could take on Tom Aspinall
  • Dana White and the UFC are still yet to announce a main event for the card

Former UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping makes a stunning prediction that WWE star Brock Lesnar could feature at UFC 300 against none other than Tom Apsinall.

Lesnar, 46, has not fought since his no contest against Mark Hunt back in 2016. The former heavyweight champion has competed at UFC 100 and 200 – therefore – featuring at 300 wouldn’t be impossible.

As for Aspinall, the Englishman is currently on cloud nine after securing the interim heavyweight tile at UFC 295.

Aspinall became the third British UFC champion in history by sensationally knocking out Russian powerhouse Sergei Pavlovich in the first round to claim the belt.

The 30-year-old, who took the fight on two-and-a-half-weeks notice having groggily answered a phone call in the middle of the night, obliterated the man he described as the ‘scariest in the UFC’.

With champion Jon Jones currently out until the summer following a gruesome injury he sustained, Aspinall is desperate to return to the cage. Much to everyone’s surprise, Bisping has named Lesnar as a potential opponent.

Speaking on the topic of Lesnar on his YouTube channel, ‘The Count’ said: ‘UFC 300, will we see Brock Lesnar on there again.

‘It sounds stupid because Brock Lesnar is no spring chicken. He’s 46 years old, but remember Randy Couture fought on to the ripe old age of about 47.

‘Fighters have gone on longer. Guess what? When there’s millions of dollars on the line, people will come and fight. And people would love to see Brock Lesnar stepping in there once again.’

‘Who would really push the needle in a massive way? Brock Lesnar. He’s only 46, he’s still a draw, people love him.

‘The UFC and the WWE, they’re both owned by the same parent company now. So, I would imagine that the politics and the contractual stuff that would be pretty easy waters to navigate.

‘I can’t see that being a hurdle. But who would the opponent be?’

Light-heavyweight champion Alex Pereira has teased a potential move up to heavyweight to compete for the title. However, Bisping believes a potential clash between Lesnar and Aspinall would be ‘mental.’

‘Call me crazy. Call me Tom Aspinall’s number one fanboy, but could you imagine Brock Lesnar vs. Tom Aspinall headlining UFC 300?

‘Maybe it’s just wishful thinking. But Tom Aspinall-Brock Lesnar, that would just be mental. That is the type of thing I think the UFC are going to do.’

Dana White and the UFC are yet to announce an official main event for the historic card and has only announced four fights so far – including Charles Oliveira vs Arman Tsarukyan.
