Toronto Blue Jays second baseman Cavan Biggio hit for the cycle Tuesday, becoming just the third player in franchise history to accomplish the feat.
Biggio capped his cycle with a two-run triple in the ninth inning of Toronto’s 8-5 win over the Baltimore Orioles.
The 24-year-old homered in the third inning, a two-run shot that scored fellow rookie Bo Bichette, singled in the sixth inning, and doubled in the eighth.
He also struck out in his first at bat to finish 4-for-5 with four runs batted in and three runs scored.
Biggio is the first Blue Jays player to hit for the cycle since Jeff Frye did it against the Texas Rangers on Aug. 17, 2001. Kelly Gruber also hit for the cycle against the Kansas City Royals in 1989.
