Joe Biden’s nephew Cuffe Biden Owens was pictured on Thursday for the first time since he announced his split with former Real Housewives of Orange County star Meghan King.
LA-based attorney Owens, 42, and King, 37, tied the knot on October 11 after revealing only the month before that they had met on a dating app.
But by late December the pair had split, with a friend telling DailyMail.com that Owens is ‘a very private person’ and didn’t ‘fully [understand] the dynamics of marrying someone who is the complete opposite when it comes to being in the spotlight.’
Yet Owens got a bit of spotlight on his own on Thursday as a photographer snapped him having a catch with a friend in Brentwood, for which he went without a wedding ring, cementing his status as a single man.

After warming up, Owens shed the zip-up, under which he had a gray T-shirt, and he turned his baseball cap around.
He also ditched the glove, and he and the friend tossed a football around for a while instead.
An eyewitness noted that he seemed in good spirits, though he was not wearing his wedding ring.

Although the exact date the couple began dating is not known, King revealed that they met on a dating app and spent five hours on the phone the first time they spoke
The ring would naturally be gone after King confirmed last week that the two had called it quits after a two-month-long marriage.
Although the exact date the couple began dating is not known, King told Brides.com about the beginning of her whirlwind love affair.
‘We connected on a dating app, texted for a day or two, then spent five straight hours on the phone the first time we spoke,’ she said.
‘By the time that call ended, Cuffe was booked and packed for a flight to St. Louis that took off in about eight hours. Within a week, we were back on the East Coast, meeting his family, and starting to plan our future together. We didn’t leave each other’s side for weeks.’
They only made it ‘official’ on Instagram in September 25, when King shared a photo of them embracing while enjoying drinks at a bar.
‘Trying my best to avoid any cheesy introductions like “my main squeeze”… so just meet my man,’ she wrote to her legions of fans.
Then just weeks later, they tied the knot at Owens’ childhood home in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania, with the president and first lady Dr. Jill Biden both attending as guests.

King confirmed the end of her marriage in a lengthy Instagram story last week just two months after the couple married in a backyard ceremony
King’s twin sons, Hart and Hayes, and her daughter, Aspen, were part of the wedding party and her father walked her down the aisle
Speaking exclusively to DailyMail.com, King’s former husband, ex-professional baseball player, Jim Edmonds, revealed how she called him out of the blue the day before her wedding to the president’s nephew.
He said, ‘She called me to tell me she was getting married. It was the first I heard anything about it. I thought it was a joke — they’d been dating for about four weeks!
‘Then I wondered, ”Is she pregnant?” But is it even possible to know that just four weeks after the first date?’
By mid-December, there were signs of trouble in paradise for King and Owens, with King posting a photo of herself spread out on a hotel bed telling followers that it felt as though she had been ‘married for a million years’ and asking fans to share advice to help keep the marriage alive.
‘We feel like we’ve been married for a million years (thanks to marrying later in life and with a lot of history and, well, kids) so a two month anniversary staycation was called for. Tomorrow real life commences but a few hours in a hotel will do a new marriage good. Please, give us more good marriage tips!’ she begged.
Some on social media had begun to suspect that all was not well in the lives of the newlyweds with Owens rarely appearing in any of King’s photos.
The last photo on Instagram in which Owens appears was on November 24, just six weeks after their wedding.

King also removed Owens’ last name from her social media pages.
‘Not trying to be rude or offensive here! Just genuinely curious…..where is your husband?’ asked one. Another chimed in: ‘Where is your husband? Never see him.’
Then just after Christmas, King confirmed that they had separated and
King admitted to being ‘rattled’ over the ‘profoundly devastating’ situation.
‘This is obviously not what I imagined when I made my vows — and I’m shocked and saddened by the way things turned out,’ she wrote.
‘I am moving forward with my children as we privately process our pain and begin to let go of shattered dreams.
‘At this time I ask for your grace and gentle kindness as I navigate this labyrinth of grief with my family,’ she added.
Speaking to DailyMail.com last week, a friend of Owens said he wasn’t one for the spotlight.
‘Cuffe is a very private person and I don’t think he fully understood the dynamics of marrying someone who is the complete opposite when it comes to being in the spotlight,’ the friend said.
King, 37, first went public with her relationship with Joe Biden’s nephew in September. Sources told DailyMail.com Owens had struggled to cope with his wife’s ‘very public’ lifestyle
King only shared a few photos of them together on social media during their short romance
Cuffe Biden Owens (right) is seen with wife Meghan King in a photo she posted October 8, 2021, just three days before their wedding
‘Meghan is all about sharing her life on social media, something Cuffe was okay with at the beginning, but when reality set in he realized he couldn’t live his life that way.
‘Cuffe didn’t want their relationship under the microscope 24/7. It’s just not him. He values his privacy too much, unlike Meghan who comes with her entourage of a million followers.’
According to the insider, Owens was aware social media was a big part of Meghan’s lifestyle but ‘just didn’t comprehend the implications this meant for his life.’
‘Cuffe never expected her to quit social media, he knows it’s Meghan’s livelihood,’ the source added.
‘Had they slowed down a bit, I think the marriage would never have happened in the first place. It was an exciting, whirlwind romance.’
The friend said it wasn’t one particular post that turned Owens off, but King’s ‘entire lifestyle of constantly documenting everything.’
King’s life in the limelight and the paparazzi, coupled with his own claim to fame as President Biden’s nephew became ‘all too much’ for Owens.

‘It wasn’t until they were married that Cuffe realized their relationship would become another subset of topics to discuss with her followers, like when she asked them for marriage advice,’ the source continued.
‘It came to a point where Cuffe didn’t know what was going to be made public and what wasn’t going to be made public.
‘He couldn’t live that way, it made him feel on guard. Imagine living that way for the rest of your life.
‘He never wanted to be a celebrity and didn’t understand that marrying a celebrity pretty much throws you in the limelight whether you like it or not, and then add the fact that your uncle is the President of the United States.
‘Look at Meghan’s past relationships, every detail played out in public,’ the friend added.
King had previously been married to a classmate, Brad McDill, but they separated in October 2011.
She married MLB superstar Jim Edmonds in 2014. Megan gave birth to their first child, Aspen King, who was born on Thanksgiving in 2016. In 2018, they welcomed twin boys named Hart and Hayes.

This week, King wrote on Instagram about looking forward to finding love again
But after five years, they divorced over allegations that Edmonds was unfaithful.
The couple finalized their divorce in May following years of back and forth bitterness due to his infidelities, which included when he allegedly sent photos of his penis to a woman the day Meghan gave birth to their twins.
King also accused him of cheating one of their nannies, Carly Wilson.
During their wild seven-year marriage, the couple engaged in threesomes with Playboy bunny Kortnie O’Connor — who Edmonds is now dating.
King said she felt betrayed by O’Connor and her ex-husband’s relationship as she counted the nude model as a friend. She has also spoken about her regret about the threesomes, while Edmonds insists King wanted even more.
But this week, King wrote on Instagram about looking forward to finding love again.
‘Let’s raise our vibe in 2022, team,’ she wrote. ‘I need to remember love can be found in unexpected places… including from within. I know my heart is incredibly right for me.’
