Bette Midler joined the hordes of last-minute Christmas shoppers at The Grove in Los Angeles.
The Hocus Pocus star, 78, took a time out from the more crowded shops to browse in an eyewear store.
The icon flashed her trademark smirk for photographers while holding a large bag from Nordstrom.
The Beaches actress wore a black sweatsuit with two white stripes around each arm and down each leg.
A tan print lightweight scarf was wound around her neck and black Nike athletic shoes donned her feet.

The Ruthless People star carried a crossbody black bag and a brown tote bag as she looked over the selection of glasses on the shelves.
Earlier this year, Midler reflected on her legendary career and admitted it wasn’t without at least one regret.
During the Just for Variety podcast, she said, ‘I have been an old lady, a young lady, a witch, a mermaid, a showgirl, a stripper, a bad lounge singer. I’ve run the gamut. And I have to say, it’s been a blast.”
But she never played a nun as she revealed that she’d been offered a role in 1992’s Sister Act.
‘Can you believe that? How off the wall is that? How crazy is that? Jeffrey Katzenberg called me every day, “Please, please.” I stood my ground because I really was afraid of the costume. Isn’t that amazing? I can wear anything but a nun’s habit?,’ she explained.
The role eventually went to Whoopi Goldberg, 68.
‘Whoopi wore it all the way to the bank,’ Midler added. ‘So God bless her. And she was perfect for it.’
And there was one more role she turned down that she still thinks about – Misery.
‘I just couldn’t. It was too violent,’ she said. ‘The character was so not funny, so without any qualities of redemption. She cut off his foot. Come on. Who does that?’

But there’s one popular television series she’d love to be a part of: White Lotus.
She’d accept a role in the MAX series, ‘In a New York minute.’
‘It’s a big sendup,’ she elaborated. ‘Mike White pokes fun at the worst kind of people, the truly entitled and rich people behaving badly. Everybody likes to see them get their comeuppance.
‘I really enjoy that. It’s the great saga of the haves and the have-nots, which is eternal. I do tend to watch the stuff that’s – I don’t want to say hopeful – but I do like to laugh. I love to laugh, but there’s just not enough laughter. So I really do look for the stuff that makes me laugh.’
