Ben Affleck has welcomed a new member to his family: a security dog. The 52-year-old actor was seen in Brentwood with his son, Sam, 12, walking their new German Shepherd alongside trainers from Trident Elite Protection Dogs.

Affleck looked relaxed in a gray-and-white cardigan over a white shirt and tan pants, while Sam sported green-and-black plaid pajama pants and a black T-shirt. Sam seemed excited to handle the dog, using a bright orange-and-black leash.

Their Brentwood neighborhood has been under heightened security recently, partly due to its proximity to the evacuation zone of the Palisades fire. While Affleck’s home wasn’t directly affected, the area has seen increased activity, including the presence of the National Guard and law enforcement investigating incidents like a drone collision with an air tanker.

The security dog may be an added precaution for Affleck’s household. Additionally, Vice President Kamala Harris and her husband, Doug Emhoff, reportedly own a nearby home, which has also brought attention to the area.

Meanwhile, Affleck has chosen to stay close to home, skipping the Sundance Film Festival, where his latest production, Kiss of the Spider Woman, starring ex-wife Jennifer Lopez, will debut. The actor appears focused on his family and personal commitments, avoiding speculation about his former relationship.
