Bar is forced to put up a sign outside to target customers complaining for an ‘unbelievable’ reason: ‘It’s pathetic that this is needed’
- Customers of a tiki bar put on notice about complaining about bugs
- They urged customers to accept they are part of ‘outdoor seating’
Customers of a tiki bar have been left stunned after noticing a new sign out the front urging guests to stop complaining about bugs.
The laminated letter told customers management have little control over bugs in the outdoor area and suggested it was a common complaint among guests.
‘We are not responsible for the flight and landing patterns and cannot be held accountable if they happen to land on your food, plate or drink,’ the semi tongue-in-cheek note read.
‘Please ask to speak to the bug, not management if this happens to you.’
Many customers claimed it was ‘sad the sign was needed’.
This note has created a stir amongst diners at an outdoor tiki bar
‘If you don’t like bugs then dining outside in the nice weather isn’t for you. All kinds of bugs will dine with you in Florida,’ one woman said on a picture of the sign.
‘Some people irritated me I mean come on its a bug take it out and enjoy your drink it wont kill you unless you got some bug that has poison on their skin land in your drink,’ said antoher woman.
Others were in disbelief.
‘I imagine this sign exists same as the warning label on a superman cape ‘does not give you the ability to fly’. We are doomed,’ one woman said.
‘Warning, nature exists outside, in nature,’ one man said.
Some people slammed the bar.
‘I mean of course the place isn’t at fault, but I’m kinda surprised they take such a hard line against taking care of the occasional drink of meal to build some good will with their clientele,’ one woman said.
‘Embarrassing to have such a bad bug problem that you have to blame it on nature,’ another said.
Management explained they cannot control the landing or flying patterns of bugs
Other people in hospitality shared their own ‘shouldn’t have to tell people, but will’ stories.
‘Had a guest at a hotel I worked at demanding a free night because they were stung by a bee. At the outdoor pool. Totally our fault that one, yeah,’ one woman laughed.
‘I once had a woman ask for a discount cause a bird pooped on the outside table … I said I’m sorry he is not on my payroll… I can’t discount this,’ said another.
‘I worked at a resort as security and I had a lady ask if there was anything I could do about the deer that was passing through in the morning,’ added a third.
