A citywide ‘tactical alert’ was ordered by the Los Angeles police department after two people were shot dead and at least five more injured during a Sunday shooting in the city’s San Pedro neighborhood. 

The shooting took place at Peck Park in San Pedro at around 3:51 p.m. local time on the 560 block of N. Western Avenue.

Initially, EMS officials in LA said that seven people were injured in the shooting. 

An LA Fire Department official later said in a press conference that two of those people have died from their injuries at local hospitals, according to CBS Los Angeles.

The LAPD said that its Harbor Division responded to the scene after 911 calls reported a shooting.  

The gunfire was apparently heard in the area of a car show happening in the park near a baseball field, LA EMS said. 

Officials have said they believe there were at least two shooters and have already found some weapons, adding that this shooting wasn’t random and may have been a dispute between two different people.
