Amanda Keller, 61, reveals she is having a second hip replacement

Radio host Amanda Keller, 61, reveals she is having a second hip replacement after ‘walking oddly my whole life’

Amanda Keller has revealed she is scheduled to have a second hip replacement operation to help ease her constant pain.

The radio host, 61, said her hip had been ‘really sore’ for the past six months and she was worried it was becoming serious.

Speaking on WSFM’s Jonesy and Amanda on Wednesday, she explained a visit to her doctor had confirmed her suspicions when she was told she had a condition called mild hip dysplasia.

‘He said my hip was like a glacier. The bone had just all shredded. I must have been walking oddly my whole life,’ she told co-host Brendan ‘Jonesy’ Jones.

‘It’s got progressively worse and so Monday week I’m going to have a hip replacement. I’m in pain so I’m taking stuff to sleep,’ she added.

She previously had hip replacement surgery in 2011, when she was 49, due to osteoarthritis in her pelvic area.

Amanda’s Instagram followers were quick to offer their well-wishes.

‘Wishing you all the best with your surgery’ one fan wrote, while another listener said they were ‘thinking of you at this time’.

Back in November, Amanda was moved to tears as she discussed her relationship with her grown-up sons on her radio show.

The mother of two told co-host ‘Jonesy’ she gets emotional when she thinks of her boys Liam, 21, and Jack, 18, who are living away from home.

She said she came across a heartwarming video online talking about the incredible bond a mother shares with her children and it brought her to tears.

Amanda was so touched by the video that she immediately forwarded it to her sons, neither of whom got back to her.

‘I sent it yesterday and they haven’t responded. It’s obviously touched an incredible nerve with them,’ she joked.
