Alex Scott bares her cleavage in a plunging red dress as she and girlfriend Jess Glynne make separate red carpet appearances at the BBC Sports Personality of the Year Awards

Alex Scott looked sensational as she arrived at the BBC Sports Personality of the Year Awards at MediaCityUK in Salford on Tuesday.

The former footballer, 39, put on a daring display as she opted for an all red ensemble for the iconic evening of British sport.

Featuring a sheer panel over her chest, the star flashed her ample cleavage in the dress which also fashioned a high central slit up the middle of the skirt.

Alex paired the dress with some red heels and contrasted the look with black nail varnish, sweeping her dark locks behind her ears.

The presenter was joined by her girlfriend Jess Glynne, although the pair weren’t photographed together on the red carpet.

Despite confirming their romance last month, the pair kept their distance on the red carpet

The pair finally confirmed their romance as they were seen sharing a passionate kiss together while out and about in London last month.

Rumours surrounding their relationship had been circling in recent months after the pair were spotted attending many of the same events and spending time together amid reports of their secret romance.

Keen not to clash with her girlfriend, while Alex donned red, Jess opted for black as she cut a sophisticated figure in an oversized black suit.

The singer appeared to go braless as she donned an oversized black blazer with plunging neckline.

She flashed her legs in a matching pair of black trousers which weren’t sewn up along the outer seam.

Jess completed the look with some chunky black heels and red manicured hands, suggesting a hint to Alex’s outfit.

The hitmaker’s signature auburn curls looked extra voluminous as they flowed over her chest.

Also attending the star-studded event was Lionness goalkeeper Mary Earps, Olympic swimmer Rebecca Addlington and retired cricketer Stuart Broad who was joined by his fiancée Mollie King.

The winner of the BBC Sports Personality of the Year award is set to be revealed this evening.

Mary Earps is the frontrunner to be crowned BBC Sports Personality of the Year after being named on the six-person shortlist.

The England goalkeeper, 30, is the odds-on bookies’ favourite to become the second straight Lioness to land the coveted award following Beth Mead’s triumph last year.

Known as Mary Queen of Stops, the footballer faces competition from Ashes hero Stuart Broad and world heptathlon champion Katarina Johnson-Thompson.

Veteran jockey Frankie Dettori, Europe’s Ryder Cup talisman Rory McIlroy and wheelchair tennis No1 Alfie Hewett are also nominated for the prestigious award.

The sportsperson who tops the public vote tonight will become the 70th winner of SPOTY.

Beth Mead was crowned as the BBC Sports Personality of the Year last year after a sensational campaign for club and country.

After being named the winner, she joined Bobby Moore as one of only six footballers to win SPOTY and the first since Ryan Giggs in 2009. The other legends on the list are Paul Gascoigne (1990), Michael Owen (1998) and David Beckham (2001).
