BOBCAT unveils the R2 Series Mini Excavators

Bobcat tripped the benchmark with the launch of their new R2-Series mini-excavators classed under the 5-to-6-ton range. These new mini-monsters come as the E50z and E55z models which offer a range of state-of-the-art features and options that make every penny paid for them worth it. So, this might trigger the question what is so good about them?

Well, for starters, both the E50z and E55z have been incorporated with Bobcat’s unique Zero House Swing (ZHS) element which enhances the level of protection compared to standard zero tail-swing designs, giving operators complete peace whilst operating within close proximity of walls, other equipment, and people.

With Zero House Swing top structure rotation of both these new releases remains completely within the outline of the tracks. This includes the front corners; the boom swings offset cylinder, handles, head and lights, and believe it or not even the door. Both the models are user-friendly, robust and are perfect for the mini excavator rental industry which has been growing steadily.

The level of operator comfort and features are certainly above expectations and stability has also been enhanced with added weight which allows the machine to sport a longer arm. The E55z is nothing less than categorized as a premium performance machine and is undoubtedly the largest not to mention the most powerful machine Bobcat has produced that boasts the ZHS design.

Robert Husar, the product line director of Bobcat was ecstatic when he announced the release of these two machines indicating that they are the best that Bobcat has come up with under this category. The design according to Husar is the result of listening closely to customers at every stage of the development process.

These machines are even aesthetically amazing without the compromise of their robustness and dynamics from fit to finish. Operator comfort and safety were given priority which reduces working stress levels for the operator with a top-notch roomy cab (more headroom, legroom sufficient storage compartments, and a comfortable seat to boot) that has a heating system and a headrest. The 5-inch display panel which is optional takes the level of comfort and visibility for the operator to an entirely whole new level.

The new releases are fitted with state-of-the-art machine and electronic technology which includes the latest main control valve, proportional thumb-controlled boom swing offset, and dual curve joysticks. The panoramic visibility for operators from within the cab is another factor worth mentioning as they are possible due to the narrow pillars that are solid and reinforced and to bump things up even more the powerful demisting feature also ensures that the operator’s visibility is never compromised at any point in time regardless of whether or working conditions.

Both machines were specifically and uniquely designed to achieve superior 360-degree stability in almost any given scenario such as when handling heavy loads or digging over the side also due to the improved counterweight design not to mention the dual flange rollers that provide superb over the side stability giving operators and excavator hire companies the confidence they need to work with more efficiency.
